Great resources. I have not heard of the Asana tool and will look to see if it's a tool that I can utilize in future projects. And it's true that for a project to succeed having a complete grasp of the time and development project schedule is the first step. And this statement hit what is important immediately, the basis concern of scheduling is the allocation of resources over time (Lawler, et al. 1993, Pinedo 1995).

Hi Sandra. Your first resource is a good parallel source putting together many of the the things we learned this week. Your second resource however is the one I found most intriguing. It give some great advice, not only on coming up with your project schedule, but also sticking to it once it is created. I like how it also separates the "master" schedule from the "details" schedule. The first article in my post which was linked to in one of our class "required reading" articles (Douglas, 2009) goes over how much scheduling detail is necessary. I think it is important to take that article in context with YOUR article because too much detail on the master schedule will probably bog down the project manager at the beginning, wasting time on details that others can manage.

Hi Sandra,
ReplyDeleteI appreciate the insights you shared on project scheduling. The breakdown of the seven steps from Asana, along with the opportunity to try building it with templates, is a hands-on approach that I find incredibly effective. The article on teamly.com delves deeper into project schedule management, providing readers with techniques and approaches for success. I particularly appreciated the software development project examples that demonstrated the practical applications of project schedule management which encompassed many different aspects of a project (Barenscheer, n.d.). Your post provides resources for project scheduling that combine various tools and techniques. Thank you for sharing!
